The Townley House Dental Practice in Oundle is giving new hope to patients who dread the thought of a needle by offering a painless injection system.
Mrs Nicola Marr is using the innovative Quicksleeper system which instantly numbs teeth with a single painless injection. Mrs Marr expects this to be a hit with those who normally avoid treatment because of needle phobia along with her regular patients. Mrs Marr says “this is really the kind of exciting new technology which dentists have been dreaming about for decades and are pleased Townley House is one of the first to offer this in the Oundle and Peterborough area. We are always try to bring the best available treatments for our patients.”
While Quicksleeper still requires a needle it is specially engineered in shape, and combined with the technique, ensures that the patient feels no more than a slight vibration. With a single treatment the dentist can numb up to eight teeth ending the need for multiple injections. The anaesthetic is carefully targeted at specific nerves meaning patients are not left with a numb tongue, lips or cheek. The main difference is that the system places anaesthetic into the bone where there are little nerve endings so producing a pain free injection.
